*smirk*

I couldn't resist. We went to the mall last night and I got a shirt that reads 'Kiss Me, I'm A Pirate.' And as if that wasn't good enough, I used whiteout/nail polish to... alter... it a little bit, so that it now reads 'Kiss me, I'm A ^music Pirate.'

Got taken to a family reunion over the weekend... now I know where I got it from, heh. The entire family sat down for hours at a time and played cutthroat rounds of multiple-player solitaire, which in our family has mutated into a contact sport. "Bastard! I needed to get the ten of spades there!" *SMACK* And then mom took us out to watch motocross on Sunday, which was interesting but I didn't like it as much as my brother. And Dad went into psycho mode on the way home and got all snappish and mean and made me and my mom both burst into tears at random moments, which wasn't too fun.

I'm doing music this session at camp. Unfortunately, while the supervising counselor and I have similar taste in music, everyone else there is blaring out Rancid and Green Day all day long and I feel as extraneous as... well... a classical pianist turned keyboardist stuck in a punk band. Next week we might cover a Rammstein song, but for now I'm doing the same stupid chord progressions all the live long day, sitting back and being bored during the Green Day song which has no keyboard part, etc etc. grrrghhhhhrrrrrrrrr. I'll probably switch into drama or something, at least then I can sing my lovely precious Phantom of the Opera songs. Apoptygma Berzerk seriously need to cover Phantom of the Opera [the song], even though for a showtune-verging-on-classical it's pretty damn rockin.' Love the organ with the drums. That song is now my addiction. Would seriously love to see what Apoptygma would do to it--they remixed O Fortuna from Carmina Burana and covered a bunch of metal songs, and the results are always awesome. Not to mention that the guy's voice sounds bad being sorta held back on some songs, I'd like to hear it at its full power in a classical range.

Lalala. We're going ice skating tonight. I've forgotten every trick I ever knew on skates, but I can somewhat skate backwards. Maybe I can still spiral--a real deep one, not just lifting one leg up and going "OMG LOOK!!1 I'm doing a trick!"

Hmmmm... I'm chewing through books like a weedwhacker here at camp. Although, I just got Colour of Magic, which should be fun, and in my continuing quest to try to creep myself out I also bought The Picture of Dorian Gray. w00t. Add that to the Phantom soundtrack and I'm a happy bunny.
