Sick

Well, so much for the two-hour-a-day sleep schedule. It would've been cool, but I need all the sleep I can get because... I'm getting sick.

The stuffy nose is the biggest indicator, as well as the post-nasal drip sore throat, but what really clinched it is that today I slept 13 hours and am still hella tired. From 11:30 to 9 and from 1:00 to 3:30...and after dinner I'll probably end up doing some homework, hitting the sack again, and sleeping like the dead. Not normal sleep patterns, yo.

What's weird is that when my voice is supposed to be hurting like a mofo it somehow always sounds its best. This summer I blew out my midrange screaming in a rock band, and in voice lessons I'd sound horrible down low and really hit my stride around a high C. And now my throat is all fucked-up and full of phlegm and my high range sounded better than it has in months. I sang the cadenza on POTO almost a cappella (my teacher isn't the greatest accompanist, had never played the song before, and had no idea what was going on)... when I was done she was like "Now I can see why Claire [Moore, ex-Toronto Christine and one of her friends] was always bitching about the role. Holy crap." What's weird is that I sang it with no problems at all up to the sustained high C's, which I so have not been able to do at all lately. And really I only had trouble because I freaked out and stopped supporting the note. Strange.

Okay, I'll stop bragging now. I'm turning into such a show-off... my teacher wants me to audition for 'Company.' Tis a possibility, but I'd have to know some of the music first. And besides I've heard at least two people here who sing better than I do. And I can't act for beans. Rargh.
