Went with my mom to a conference on social skills disorders in children--most of it was geared towards parents of elementary school kids, but there were probably a few things we could adapt to help me out a bit. Mom went up to the speaker afterwards and asked where I could get some sort of help for the Aspergers, but although I couldn't really tell if the question off-put her, Mom assures me that she seemed confused and flustered by the question, and didn't give us any real information. So apparently there's not much specialised social counseling out there for teenagers--well, not teenagers with this particular problem, there's plenty for homicidal/suicidal/antisocial loose cannons. From what I've gathered the program at my school for kids with 'behavioural problems' mostly involves being watched every second you're at school, 'behaviour and feelings logs,' excessive talking to the rapists therapists, and being in classes separated from the school at large where you're treated like an idiot. Not good.

Yesterday was also rehearsal for the All-State Senior Chorus auditions [yes, you have to rehearse for the auditions], wherein we had forty-five minutes to learn a Handel piece that sounds exactly like every other Handel piece I've ever sung, including the 3\/1L sixteenth notes in rapid succession and the repetitive lyrics that bear an eerie similarity to the repetitive lyrics of the Christmas program made up entirely of Handel's music that I once had to sing. It's a very distinctive style, and I'm sick sick sick of it.

By the way, has anyone else had the problem where LJ eats the last character of your entry or comment? 'Tis very annoying.
