Ew, Washington--but yay, family.
Back from France. I'm jetlagged, the weather is awful, and when I went out to dinner there was more ice in my drink than water. (Oh, small cultural differences.) But my mother is made of awesome and organized my bookshelves while I was gone, and made home-cooked soft pretzels and spiced tea and she printed out one of my gigantic maps of 19th-century Paris and hung it on my wall. I heart my mom so much. In mom-language, "You're so much skinnier than last time I saw you!" does not mean "Congratulations," it means "I need to feed you!" (I did not really think she had a point until I changed into my nightgown and saw ribcage between my boobs. Feed away, maman.)
And I need to unpack and do my laundry and track the audio from Montreuil-sur-Mer and organize and upload my Paris photos and go talk to my boss about my new work schedules... but I am lazy, so I am sitting here slumming on lj and drinking tea.
