Oh Slashdot, how I love thee.
From a recent article posted there: the airspeed velocity of an unladen European swallow is approximately 24 miles per hour. No info on African though. However, this is merely one calculation of the average speed; for nerds like me it's much more fun to say 21 mph--after all, it's half of 42. XD
And from my own research, the capital of Assyria would have been a moot question by that point, since Assyria fell in 612 BC (its capital was Nineveh at the time), but King Arthur reigned from 367-734 AD. Oops. But next time you watch Holy Grail, shout "NINEVEH" at the bridge scene.
