Coffee break's over, everyone back on your heads!

I know I've mostly been updating about Smith and other real-life stuff recently, even though the fandom section of my flist is probably not interested, and sooner or later it will probably balance back out. I've been horribly understimulated for the past couple years, especially after Les Mis closed, so being in a neat place where stuff is going on makes me want to babble about RL no matter how boring it is to everyone else. (Like, I'm sure none of you would be as amused as I am by the discovery of a Facebook group called "Smith College is Actually Hogwarts.") Once I get more settled into the routine here, get a sense of what my courseload will be, and deal with the back-to-college mood swings, I will probably actually have more energy than before for fandom stuff. Because the environment here is totally work-hard-play-hard, so I will probably end up in a "Hell, I just finished all my calculus homework, how bout I translate some of the Jeanne trial in celebration" mindset.

I dunno, I feel like I haven't had the mental energy to do anything for a while, and I'm talking months not days. But maybe it's the brain equivalent of muscle atrophy--no school means no mental gymnastics on a regular basis, which in turn means I don't usually feel up to writing fic or maintaining the website or meta-ing or whatever. But if that's the case, I should be back in shape pretty fast.

...also, I am now the proud owner of a Marie-Antoinette figurine! With Ejector Head Action(TM)! I'll keep her on my desk next to the miniature guillotine.
