My new stockings are enough to make me want to wear short skirts. And I'm normally a "below-the-knee and exceedingly voluminous so I don't have to worry about flashing anyone" type. But these stockings are so revoltingly pretty that everyone should see them.
Lovely! Also, not sure if you got my facebook posts, but a few things about Paris:
a. my mom wanted to know if you'd like a ride to the airport.
b. we arrive on the 27th and have to therefore find lodgings. Smith gives us a hotel room on the 28th at Hôtel Méridien Montparnasse, which I looked up online. We could get a hotel room with two beds for 140 euros on the 27th sans free internet, h...elas, but with a trouser press. I don't know why they listed a trouser press in the list of amenities, but they did.
c. there is a shuttle run by Air France that would drop us off right across the street from the Hôtel Méridien Montparnasse and said shuttle only costs 11/5 euros.
Ack, sorry, I'm horrible about checking facebook. XD
a. I'll have to talk to my parents re: rides to the airport, as I think they'd like to see me off. Will get back to you Monday or Tuesday about that, as I'm about to disappear from the interwebs for the weekend.
b. Again, will discuss with parents, but it might be nicer to find a budget hotel with free internet. If only to reassure our parents that we didn't die in transit. EuroCheapo turns up this place, which has free Wi-Fi, and is close to the Palais Garnier which is a drop-off point for one of the airport shuttles. Which means it's also close to the Métro, although hauling suitcases on the Métro is always... interesting.
c. This is a possibility (and v. convenient if we end up booking an extra night at the Méridien Montparnasse), but I have no idea where to find it. I do know where to find the shuttle that goes to the Opéra. But again, Métro + rolling suitcases = getting stuck in the turnstile and fished out by an employee who finds your plight hilarious.
No problem about facebook! Let me know which you would prefer when you get the chance, though, just for convenience's sake with baggage, I think it might be better to go with the Méridien Montparnasse and pay extra for the internet.
I think we could probably ask someone in the Charles de Gaulle airport when we get there, re:the shuttle, so as to avoid pulling suitcases through Metro turnstiles.
