This week should be fun.

First I ran out of ADD meds due to shortages + dosage problems, then my non-drowsiness-inducing hayfever meds started giving me weird tics/spasms and I had to switch. Net result?

Oh my god you guys I am a narcoleptic six-year-old with the attention span of a goldfish. And a desk job.

9:05am: Drag self bleary-eyed into work. Immediately go to make some double-strength coffee.
9:25am: Complete Washington Post crossword
9:45am: Complete LA Times crossword, begin spinning around and around in desk chair to keep from falling asleep
10:00am: Meeting!
10:15am: Open eyes, make salient comment, point out bug in example code, close eyes and resume trying not to fall asleep.
10:45am: Can I go play outside?
10:55am: The meeting isn't over yet? But I wanna go play outsiiide.

[. . .]

2:15pm: Open energy drink. Begin playing catch with rubber band ball.
2:20pm: Miss a catch, leave swathe of rubber-band-ball destruction across desk. Dive to save energy drink.
2:45pm: Caffeine kicks in. Ponder whether I can go run around in the field behind the office under guise of a smoke break, even though I have neither cigarettes nor a lighter handy.
2:46pm: Why don't I have a lighter? I want to set things on fire.
2:50pm: Is it physically possible to die of boredom?
3:00pm: Holy balls another meeting? Houston, we have an emergency shortage in the doodling-supplies department, send commando squad to the supply cabinet for a paper-and-pens raid.
3:15pm: I like these people. This is a good meeting to be having. The presenter is making really dry material somewhat interesting. So it would be inexcusably rude to tear sheets off my legal pad and make them into paper airplanes.
3:20pm: It would also be really rude to fall asleep.
3:30pm: ...I wanna go play outside.

I swear I am not normally this bad, but when I go off meds I have a tendency to bounce back really far in the other direction before levelling off into less extreme space-cadet territory. And I have never experienced said bounce-back while I was required to sit still for eight hours a day. The next few days are gonna be really interesting.
