Okay, listened to the last section of the Canadian recording again and sang along. Loudly. I revise my opinion--even if I'm not too fond of the style, it's awfully easy to get carried away into it, and pop-voice aside, Rebecca Caine is much better than Sarah Brightman (chipmunk soprano!). And Colm Wilkinson has a very powerful voice--now if he'd just hold his notes... hehe. Very fun to sing along to. All the snarling and sulking... stick a mask on my face and ship me off to Broadway! I also notice that from Point of No Return on, everything is in my range--even the low Cs in PoNR are hissed/spoken, and the Music of the Night reprise is taken up an octave for the low bit. Lowest I have to do is a D, and that's easy enough.

Byron Nease, however, is teh suck as Raoul and probably as most anything. Steve Barton forever, rest in peace.

Hehe, my cat looked at me really funny while I was singing. She prolly thinks I'm a madman. And speaking of 'teh suck,' I caught myself attempting to say 'teh' out loud this morning when I discovered that one of the people I hang around with in the morning is also a fandom_wank addict. Bad sign. Very bad sign.
