Lady up the street saw the 'missing cat' signs and called us to say that the cat had been hanging out in her yard all night. I ran up with the cat carrier and found her perched happy and dry underneath a tent/awning structure in her backyard filled with overflow garage junk, stuffed her inelegantly into the carrier, and brought her home.

Let the kitty cuddling commence!

I feel kinda stupid now for worrying so much, but it's not like freaking out wasn't justified. In any case, this was apparently just another kitty-cat adventure to her, and now she keeps looking longingly at the windows.
