A few "oh my god"s.
First of all, one of my Christmas presents was the unabridged Count of Monte Cristo. Why did I ever read the abridged version. It cut out all the drugs, cross-dressing, and lesbians! Eugénie making eyes at all the women at the opera = best evar. (Well, I don't know, Franz's freaky hashish-induced naked statue shenanigans run a pretty close second.)
But, more importantly, we have a piano. Well, it's not in the house. Actually it's off in freaking St. Michael's, but it's ours, and it's being delivered later in the week. It's a beautiful 1892 Steinway in really good condition for its age, and we got it for about a tenth of what it's probably worth. Talk about unexpected--it was listed on Craigslist without a picture, which is probably why nobody else snatched it up.
Also, I... just found out, via facebook, that the first person I ever kissed committed suicide in 2006. We barely knew each other, but still. *shivers*
(Edit: And if anyone in the area wants to come see me make a fool of myself, I have somehow been talked into singing at the Harp & Fiddle in Bethesda. 6 o'clock-ish, tonight.)
