Have a nice sunny suite for the guest to rest in, now and then you could do the guest in...

I want to be a crazy cat lady when I grow up.

We all have our pretty little fantasies, don't we? Two point five kids and a white picket fence? Well, forget that. My introverted and un-maternal little self has no desire for children. Or even a spouse, when you come down to it--if something happens and I fall madly in love, sure, but that hasn't happened yet and I'd be fine alone.

So, my pretty little fantasy: a rambling old Victorian out in the middle of nowhere, stuffed with my messy crap, most of the walls converted into bookshelves. An overgrown and mostly untended garden with lots of flowering vines and a fruit tree hung with a dozen different windchimes. Antique furniture and decorations combined with geeky gadgets in ways that would give an interior designer fits. No TV, but several computers to tinker with. A room full of musical instruments. And, of course, cats. Not so many I can't take care of them, but still, lots of cats. And a parrot. All probably named after dead gay poets and characters in books. And, being a 21st century cat lady, I'd barely ever leave the house even to shop. You can order your groceries online, after all.

I bet all the local kids would tell stories about me being a witch. :D

(Back in reality, I went to the UMD library again and typed up more Révolutions du XIXe siècle pamphlets and trial records. I'll post them later.)
