Ten Little Chances to be Free (

Nothing to see here, move along.
My mood has been kinda swingy over the past few days, but it is actually a huge comfort to be back in my room with my books and my ridiculous Victorian décor and my mess. I don't think I realized how much I missed my room when I was in France, or even when I got back, but a few nights ago I was curled up in the armchair in front of my bookshelf with a thunderstorm raging outside and my wineglass resting on the windowsill, and it felt so good. (Right now the room is a bit too far on the straitlaced Victorian side--too much Mucha and not enough Gorey--but I plan on going on a poster rampage as soon as the new bookshelves go up, and in the meantime I improvised an outlandish bedcurtain out of all my black lace scraps.)
Have spent most of my time lately being perfectly domestic--reading, cooking, and sewing. I cannot do verbal things (like read or surf the internet) while listening to music, it crosses wires in my brain, but music + tactile things is perfectly ok. So even though I absolutely suck at sewing, I have been having a lot of fun playing my old tape collection while hand-sewing black lace panels into a skirt. Could I just go downstairs and commandeer the sewing machine? Probably, but the point is not efficiency, the point is something to do with my hands while blasting Ziggy Stardust.
Wish I could get out of the house more, but going for walks is not exactly fun and recreational when it is wretchedly hot, and most other things I could do involve spending money I don't have. Even the free museums are downtown which means parking + metro costs. I need to come up with a way to make money. I suppose I could scrape together unwanted books/clothes to sell on ebay.
