eeee!!!
So I shot off an email to the French professor who specializes in the Romantic era, asking if I could do a special studies project about queerness in French Romantic lit. She just got back to me and THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN. THIS SEMESTER. Which means I won't have an absurd courseload in the spring, and it fills a schedule gap I had this fall.
Right now I am all flaily and torn between "OMG I get academic credit for squeeing about the stuff in this post" and "OMG I am going to be writing a fifty-page paper IN FRENCH what the fuck am I doing."
...also I spent all this morning squeeing about slash fic and Sondheim with a sophomore I had never met before, and yesterday while biking back from the campus center I ran into someone who was wandering around singing Gilbert and Sullivan while her friend accompanied her on the harmonica. This is why Smith is awesome.
