Seventh game of the World Series. Ninth inning. Red Sox down by three runs with two outs. Bases loaded, full count.
Whoever is at bat will strike out.
It's fate.
(Incidentally, I wonder what would happen if the Red Sox and the Cubs ever played each other in the World Series. At that point God would probably stop playing with us and just launch Armageddon.)

Red Sox vs. Cubs. I wanted that to be the Series last year but nooooooo everyone had to just screw up!
And yes, it is fate. I have the feeling that the Sox will lose the Series. Against the Cards.
