Edit to add in homework grumblings. Skip if you like. But dude, I hate meta. Okay, meta's fine, and usually interesting, but then you have to write about it without having read the original and it's all metameta and shit and why can't we just fucking read the Thousand and One Arabian Nights instead of writing one-page responses to articles about their tortuous history and how fucking weird they are?
Okay, I'm only whining because I've been reading a completely different set of meta (discussions on Nietzsche, yay) and want to write about that instead. But... dude. And we don't study Nietzsche until next year, and I won't have a philosophy prof leading the class. Boo. Hiss. *resolves to go paw around through the library for a copy of Also Sprach Zarathustra*
Edit the second: Well, I managed to get through my response without going off about Cthulhu (yes, was reading Lovecraft last night) or the transmutation of morals, although I managed to cram an astonishing amount of linguistics geekery into one double-spaced page. But really, he gives us bullshit to work with and I churn out bullshit. Fair trade.

Oh you know a guy in my class, he's a huge (and I mean huge and it's still an understatement) Nietzsche fan, and in an essay he actually spelled it wrongly... First he wrote Nietzche and then he wrote Nietsche. He's such a loser.
