Urgh. So zee druggies helped me improve from 'unable to concentrate on anything let alone work' to 'functional,' and I've at least made a dent and gotten some of the more horribly backed-up things out of the way. Namely that goddamn Jane Austen paper and one of the German papers--eight or nine pages total, not bad. 10 more to go plus one paper revision, and why do I have the feeling I'm not going to finish this all tonight? Ah well. I think I'll try to get the musical theater paper done tonight or this upcoming day, just because tis actually due on the 11th and it won't be late that way. And perhaps get the revision out of the way as well, so the only things I'll have left will be another two-page German paper and a four-page paper that somehow relates to Frederick Douglass.

I also did all my laundry, which I suppose somehow signifies that I'm getting ready to pack up. They're kicking us out on Friday; I have the sinking feeling that I'll still be in my room tapping madly away at my computer then.

God dammit, I hate the end of the semester. Not because it's the end of the semester, but because there's so much shit piled up and I finally have to deal with it all.

Edit: And of course it wears off and I'm right back where I started with the not being able to concentrate on my work. Fuck.

How in the bleeding hell would one cite the Bible in MLA format?

This being my last paper for this particular class, some measure of silliness is permissible.

I realize it is the end of the semester and everyone, myself included, is feeling silly and irreverent towards all the work.

However.

This does NOT mean that for my seminar paper revision, I should completely rewrite my paper on Hamlet with a New And Improved thesis of "Hamlet was the original whiny goth kid," no matter how easy that thesis would be to support.

Or that for my paper on Frederick Douglass I should write farcically about the emancipation of modern man from corporate slavery in Fight Club, no matter how much I know that serious papers about FC annoy the professor.

Or that I should write my comparative musical theater analysis on Phantom and Les Mis [or insert two other British Invasion shows here] just to get under said professor's skin.

Or that I should write my last German paper on how annoying German grammar is.

Seriously, these are all Bad Ideas and I should not implement any of them unless my GPA suddenly informs me that it is feeling suicidal.
