Back at school. Arrived three and a half hours after check-in ended. Laptop still broken; using library computer. Sophomore seminar sounds like it's going to be hell on earth. Arabic is promising. Vocal performance still an unknown quantity, but it seemed all right.

... Jesus F. Motherfucking Christ on a pogo stick, I just spent almost $400 on textbooks. First segment of the drive up was horrible. And worse, being in the same place where I had such a miserable last semester has got the gray-mist feeling of depression closing back in. It's different, especially with new housing, but I still have to fight hard against the impulse to curl up into a ball and stare into space all day. If I spend too much time doing familiar things all the color drains out of the world and everything becomes the way it was last spring.

At least my homework tonight isn't too overwhelming. Just have to memorize the Arabic alphabet and do some stupid introductory assignment for seminar. And I should probably get off the computer--it's making me feel rather dull.
