tenlittlebullets: (Goth Barbie: my ded iz pastede on yay)
Waaaaughahahaha. Finished reading Interview With the Vampire, flipped idly to the copyright page to check the year of publication, and discovered that Anne Rice has the same maiden name as my middle-school English teacher. And the same personality too, come to think of it. The same "I am better than you and every word that drops from my lips is a perfect pearl of wisdom to be treasured and cherished, peon," the same martyr complex, the same way-too-personal reaction to criticism, and the same "I am right and you are wrong, dammit!" thing going on. Seriously, I argued with this woman for an entire semester over whether 'therefore' is a coordinating conjunction (it's an adverb, h0r), involving many red-pen scribbles, artificially low grammar marks, furious Strunk and White smackdowns, and "I must be right because I have a Ph. D." The woman was nuts.

...they must be sisters. Totally. OMG.

DDR was... interesting. I must admit I've never played before in my life, but I don't think I did that bad for a first-timer--at least, I didn't cause any injury to myself or others, which must count for something. Especially given the number of injuries I usually cause when I try to "dance."

ETA: Yay, ebay stopped being a h0r. *bids happily*

Dude. I'd put First and Last and Always away for awhile because I was getting sick of it, and today I listened to it for the first time in several months and... yeah. dude. It kinda smacked me upside the head like it did the first time I ever listened to it and I was all *flail* And it was the original takes too, which are for the most part better than the redone versions on the CD. And it has the echoey guitars and shit that are totally not there on Floodland and *flaaaaaail* Yeah, so it all sounds similar. Yeah, so each individual song, once you really pick it apart, isn't a masterpiece. But the whole thing taken together just causes massive flailage. And the fade-out of Some Kind of Stranger still makes me go 'wauuuuuugh *sniffle*' Which is kind of strange given the subject matter, but whatever.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS ALBUM, DOWNLOAD IT IMMEDIATELY.
