When I drove home from work yesterday there were eddies of cherry-blossom petals in the streets, blowing around in the wind like snow.
There are so many flowers in our yard. Daffodils and crocuses sprinkled about at random, cherry blossoms, violets, forsythias, three different colors of camellias, a tree in the back covered in dark-red buds about to burst into flower.
This is the first year in my memory I haven't been miserable from allergies in the springtime. I don't know why they've gone away, I only know that this year I'm actually noticing spring for the first time in my life and I never thought about how beautiful it was.
As soon as the danger of frost is over I'm going to plant more flowers.
