Oh thank god.
Dec. 31st, 2009 19:41Eurostar finally got their act together and offered to reimburse my "alternative transportation." Now all I have to do is hunt up my train/ferry tickets and mail 'em off.
Mailed off a few Christmas gifts today, then headed back to Second Story Books (gulp) for more Patrick O'Brian because
mmebahorel tipped me off that the middle books in the series are always harder to find. Walked out with Surgeon's Mate, Thirteen Gun Salute, Nutmeg of Consolation, Wine-Dark Sea, Hundred Days, and A Sea of Words--which was all they had in paperback. I managed not to walk out with anything else, always a difficult feat at Second Story.
Nothing special planned for tonight, except staying up to give 2009 a swift kick in the arse on the way out. It was a great year for me personally, but I'm pretty sure everyone else I know would like to strike it permanently from existence.
