Blah blah blah.
Sep. 11th, 2010 17:22Aaaah. I know there are a billion things I need to catch up on--sending various people recordings, videos, and clothing; an RP; the LM read-through; the French lyrics transcription--but I seem to have undergone a disturbing cognitive shift upon returning to school, and my brain is now going "Stop wasting time on the internet! Get up early! Socialize! Eat three square meals a day!" I have not forgotten you all, I promise! I have just developed a bit of internet avoidance. I will get on top of it all... sometime soon? I am definitely working on the sending-people-stuff part.
It would appear that my class schedule is now definitively computer graphics, number theory, ancient Greek, and special studies in French lit. Along with fencing (first meeting is on Monday!), the early-music vocal ensemble, possibly voice lessons, and maybe a part-time job. None of the local bookstores seem to be hiring, but I did pick up an application at a local discount-organic-food store.
Attempts to be virtuous will continue as long as I can keep 'em up. The getting-up-early thing is actually much easier now that I'm off medication--I get antsy in class now, and my study skills aren't the greatest, but overall it is an improvement to quality of life. On the other hand, my horrid diet is finally catching up to me, and I am getting a bit pudgier than I really should be. So the next attempt to be virtuous will probably involve exercise, fruits, vegetables, reasonable portion sizes, and cutting down on between-meal snacks. Aka eating like a normal person, since my metabolism will no longer allow me to eat like a sixteen-year-old boy without retribution.
Finally knocked one of those things I'd been meaning to do off the list--I visited the Bridge Street Cemetery. Holy fuck I have a lot of ancestors buried here. Somewhere in my paternal ancestry are the Clarks, who were a prominent Northampton family and one of them eventually married into the Brownell clan and produced my great-grandmother. There are a LOT of Clarks there, oh dear god. A handful of Brownells. And even a family with my last name--no idea if there was any relation. Have sent an email off to my mom, who has the genealogy.
