Mrrrr. So apparently there's not going to be a musical next semester. Certain snobs who hold high positions in the theater department happen to hate musical theater with a passion--to the point where one of them walked out of Company last year, even though she was the lead's thesis advisor and it was his thesis performance. Bitch. Anyway, they hold all the power where their department's funding is concerned, and our tech people here are generally very expensive professionals, so our funding for a musical got cut and we can't afford to stage one. Curses. So according to Gigi we're going to be putting on a concert version of the Mikado instead, sans sets and props and lighting, and performing it in the really nice old music building instead of the hulking ugly new theater that Company got performed in.

Coincidentally, one of the pieces the vocal performance class concert will include is "Three Little Maids." Which recently led to the most amusing Freudian slip evar:

Three little maids who, all unwary, come from a ladies' cemetery...

Oh that sucks X_x; Musicals are my favorite kind of performance to see in the theater!

Dang. Sorry, sugar, but I hope the other show works out OK.
