(no subject)

Was going over my old entries and OMG. *dies laughing*

The last sentence.... ahahahahaha. Time for me to eat my words. *raises the flag of fandom high*

Also, have noticed that not only was I a dumb cunt a year ago, I swore far too fucking much and with far too little creativity. It's quite embarrassing to read your old journal entries and realize what a stupid little shit you were and probably still are.

I love when fandoms do that. "Eh it was okay." to "OMG HOW DID I LIVE WITH OUT THIS!!!" Charlie and the Chocolate Factory did that to me.

I am not a bit less of a little shit. But I was a pretty keen cookie back then anyway, and only my...shall we say "Outlook" has changed.

Funnily enough, I think Les Mis was the only fandom I didn't actively dislike before it sucked me in. Star Wars? Hated it. Harry Potter? Hated it. Several bands I was completely obsessed with in my mid-teens? "OMG what is this noise?!" Phantom? "Ew, soppy romance."

But with LM it was more like "Oh, that's okay, going back to my deformed geniuses now." Heh.

Ha, that's why all my older entries are locked. *shifty*

The fandom thing, on the other hand? Fucking funny.

but I think I had been internally confusing her name with the crazy knitting lady in Tale of Two Cities for a long time. I have no idea why.

....hahaha.

bwahaha. XD ... that was only last year? Damn. Maybe I have been a Les Mis fan for too long... (nine years) <_<

And I know the feeling. I scrolled back in my lj to 2004 when I was tagging, and I was deleting a few of them, I was such a dumbass.

I go through fandoms at the rate of approximately one every two years, so yeah. But it's weird to think that I've been in the Harry Potter fandom for seven years. o_O I can definitely see where one could get cynical after that long.

I don't consider myself in HP fandom, but I got into the books about a year after PS came out. My aunt bought it from me -- and the reason i remember that? Because I read it at her house while we listened to the CSR, which she owns. :D

[identity profile] mmejavert.livejournal.com 2006-02-01 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
bought it FOR me. Argh. I can't type for shit.

I was way deep in the HP fandom for three or four years, starting the summer before PoA was released in America. It's slacked off a bit since then, but I still consider myself a fan. Sort of. I think the only one that's lasted longer was Star Wars, and that relationship is a bit... tumultuous. XD

[identity profile] mmejavert.livejournal.com 2006-02-01 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
I have very few fandoms, really. Very few. There's Les Mis, and House... um, and Brimstone and Numb3rs (that's the newest), and Master & Commander / the Aubrey-Maturin series. I used to be in PotC before it became mindless, and I never bothered with HP because it was too big and scary. But really, that's all. Oh! I almost forgot Martin Guerre, but... well, if you thought Mizfandom was dead, MGfandom is mummified. *sadness*

[identity profile] 10littlebullets.livejournal.com 2006-02-01 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Martin Guerre has a fandom? ...heh, jk. I dunno, I go through fandoms relatively quickly, but some of them like HP and Star Wars tend to stick around even after I've found a new shiny. I have the sneaking suspicion that LM will be one of them: it's got more substance than the recent string of ones I just left behind, and certainly more material. *stares at thousands of pages of related books* Definitely enough material to keep me going for a while.

I think the only reason I stayed with Les Mis fandom is because it was my first. I mean, come on. I was eleven when my grandmother took me to see the show, and at my old age 20 I kinda don't see myself giving it up. XD

Ahahaha I did a similar thing. "Yeah JOJ is good but not as good as MC." ...................... I think I had something permanently stuck in my ears. Or had been brainwashed by the OLC. (That entry is locked now. Don't want people seeing it.)
