Unpopular Fandom Opinions
1. Enjolras/Grantaire is not an OTP. No. No. Fuck you. If they have any relationship at all, it is going to be severely dysfunctional.
2. Can people please at least acknowledge the fact that in canon, Enjolras has never kissed anyone? Enjolras making out with all and sundry actually seems ickier to me than Enjolras sleeping with his lieutenants. Have fun with it, for god's sake; there are plenty of fun and slashy things you can have him do without playing tonsil hockey with Combeferre.
3. Bossuet is bald. Chemotherapy, however, did not exist in the 1820s, and I highly doubt he would be completely hairless unless he were embarrassed about his baldness and shaved his head. In any case, completely-bald!Bossuet looks weird to me; I always picture him with impressive sideburns, a giant bald spot, and rather thin light reddish hair. Mmmmm, sacrelicious.
4. There exists such a thing as too much slash. Volume-wise, there will probably never be enough for me, but proportionally? I get so sick of slash when there's so little good gen out there.
5. Orestes Drunk and Pylades Fasting did nothing for me. Horrors.
6. Fandom switch! A bit like Enjolras and Grantaire, Erik and Christine can never have a functional relationship. It's nice to wish, and terribly romantic, but they'd drive each other nuts and Christine would probably end up traumatized.
7. Mary-Sues are not an acceptable genre of goodfic. Mary-Sues are not goodfic, ever. Fuck you, Phantom fandom.
8. Fandom switch again! I always hated the Draco Trilogy for the same reason I hate Mary-Sues: "Look at meeeee I'm better and more interesting than the original canon!" The DT would work well as an original, with some tailoring, but after a point it ceases to have anything to do with the HP world at all.
9. Draco Malfoy is not hot. I know this might be shocking, but... no. And I have yet to read a plausible D/H, D/Hr, or D/G fic.
10. Snarry squicks the ever-living hell out of me. I don't understand it. At all.
I was going to do the "Top Ten Signs You're Reading Fic by Me" meme, but... um... I don't have enough fic posted to really have more than a couple idiosyncracies.
