Today, armed with two flashlights and a pair of waterproof boots, I went on a little urban spelunking expedition. Twas lots of fun, really--I went about half a mile up a neighborhood storm drain that feeds into a horribly polluted stream. (Er, the chemical weapons buried in the watershed cause the pollution, not the storm drains.) Stopped and went back when the tunnel branched off--there was one feeder tunnel that was big enough for me to walk into, but there was also a dead raccoon at the entrance to it, I probably couldn't have gotten in without stepping on it, and besides it smelled positively noxious. Bad air, enclosed spaces, you know. I might go back when I've a bit more confidence in my pulmonary fortitude. Other than that it was nice--dark, cool, rather like a miniature subway tunnel. Especially pleasant considering I had a bit of a trek to get to the tunnel opening in the first place; it's unseasonably hot in DC and full of all sorts of mosquitoes and nasty things, which were gone as soon as I got into the tunnel. Oh, and a nice echo. Quite peaceful in there too. S'nice. Well, nice if you don't mind odd fungi and the occasional dog turd, but still.

What else? Might hit Alchemy tomorrow, and this time I'll be legal. Ha.

There is a frellin' gigantic cat lying on my desk partially obscuring the monitor. Awwww.
