My Romanticism iz pastede on.
- I've decided that I'm not just growing out my hair, I'm growing it out to a ridiculous--nay, pre-Raphaelite--length. And not fucking with the color anymore, except maybe adding a bit of red.
- Have calculated that it will take three years to grow it to the length I want. It's worth it. (And within a year it will be long enough to put in ringlets.)
- I found a vintage 1870s-ish pattern for a petticoat with a nice bustle. It looks doable.
- Speaking of pre-Raphaelites and Victoriana, definitely want to make some of those Artistic Dress movement pseudo-medieval dresses.
- Waterhouse is love.
- So is Gorey.
- We finally have the cashflow to furnish and decorate my room, which has had no furniture but a bed and a sort-of desk since we moved into this house two years ago. You fucking bet I'm going all-out with Victorian gothic fripperies.
- Painting the walls either purple or dark red. Haven't decided yet.
- I can't get rid of the fucking bags under my eyes and this upsets me.
- I own six pairs of boots and only one pair of shoes. And they're sneakers. Dammit, I need a couple of decent pairs of shoes.
- I made myself a veil. It's pretty.
- My corset is falling apart. I've mended it as best I can, but I have the feeling that steel bones that want to poke out will do so, no matter how heavy-duty the thread I used to darn it.
- Have had the oddest urge to learn knitting and embroidery lately.
- Other things I've been wanting to learn lately include Latin, ancient Greek, Italian, and pyrotechnics. I should also take up lessons again in French, piano, voice, and violin.
- Actually, I want to do a French immersion program.
- Have developed a mild crush on Lord Byron. (Incidentally, our birthdays are almost exactly two hundred years apart, to within a two-week period.)
- Have also been slowly delving into more Romantic literature. I like it. A lot. I should have been born two hundred years ago, damn it.
- Oh, and bel canto. Have fallen in love with bel canto. I want to be a coloratura. *weeps*
- Actually, does anyone have any bel canto? I'd be willing to trade for it. Pleeeeease.
...er, I think that's it. For now.

I'll teach you Italian if you pay me :) Native speaker! In fact, you'd probably learn more slang and dirty idioms from me than anything of real merit.

Latin and Ancient Greek are fun to learn. You should. I recommend everyone to learn Latin.

I own too many corsets.

Augh, isn't it dreadful? *has permanent eye-bags, hello. is a baglady.*

OK, so you like corsets, then how much did you love Keira Knightley's dress where she falls off the wall in POTC?
I have never coveted anything so much in my entire existence and I doubt I ever shall.
Well, excepting Ewan Mc Gregor singing me "Your Song" in its entirety but that's besides the point.

This is how I'm (slowly) learning to knit. The instructions are competent, I'm just lazy.

And hey, you think you're crazy, I might be taking Latin and Italian simultaneously. XD

But anyway. Latin and Italian at the same time will be quite interesting; I should think they're rather similar, right?

I would pay to have the opportunity to study those languages. Unfortunately, my high school doesn't have enough of a budget to offer more than Spanish, French, Italian, Latin, and Japanese (the latter to a select few, though).
