In the meeting of mined, down in the streets of shame...
Saw Les Mis again yesterday. I'm kind of glad I'm not going this weekend, since I'm getting a little burned-out on the show and I could use a week's break before we splurge on the last weekend before the cast change.
Rob's replacement, Ben Crawford, has one of the most gorgeous bass-baritone voices I've ever heard. I really hope they make him first cover Javert, because the mere thought of him singing Stars is making my head explode with "mmmmm." The closest comparison I can think of is to Richard White, who voiced Gaston in Beauty and the Beast and Erik on the Yeston/Kopit Phantom cast recording. That kind of a voice.
Adam is apparently taking a week off after the cast change; Doug Kreeger is going to be on as Marius on April 29 and the first couple days of May, and after that Dan is going to be on until the sixth. (And apparently Drew is going to be on as Javert May 11-13. Lots of people taking time off after the cast change, I guess.)
Also talked to Nehal Joshi, who assured us that we will have plenty of opportunities to see him as Enjolras after the 24th, since "Max is a bit more delicate." Jenn and I waited until he'd wandered off to talk to someone else, then laughed our asses off at that.
And Lea did it again! "Javert, would you believe it, I was crossing from the park when this prostitute attacked me--" "YOU BASTARD!" Man, her Fantine is one foul-mouthed little hussy.

"You bastard" is good, but nothing can top "Fuck you!" Except maybe if she said "Motherfucker!" I love how her Fantine isn't innocent in the least. Come to think of it, I bet she learned those words from Tholomyès or Favourite rather than from the prostitutes *g*.
