fandom_counts: You know you've made it big when your userinfo gets translated into Latin.
Aaaand Deletegate '07 has blown over. Mostly. Really, I think LJ did the best thing they possibly could do after they'd already fucked up, which was to admit they fucked up, apologize, do their best to repair the fuck-up, and actually listen to their users. Actually, I think this is the most response that fandom--or disgruntled LJ users in general--has had from LJ/6A in my recent memory, which goes a long way towards making up for the absurd amount of time it took to get any update on the situation whatsoever.
All the same, I don't think I'll be buying a permanent account when they go on sale later this month. I'd been considering it before, but now I think I'll just renew my paid time and sit this one out. This has very little to do with my trust or lack thereof in LiveJournal, and more to do with fandom. I mean, I use my LJ mostly for fandom, and it's the main place I dump all my fannish crap. Fandom in general has just shown exactly how willing it is to get up and go somewhere else when something pisses off its collective self--the sheer amount of fury, protest, and people swearing off LJ forever was staggering for a situation that only affected a few people directly and where all the facts weren't yet available. Mass migrations have happened before and they'll happen again. Given that much mobility, I don't really feel like staking out a permanent claim on LJ. So no permanent account for me.
Also, I kind of feel like writing celebratory porn now.
Those two things are probably the only substantial effects Strikethrough 07 will have on me. XD

But, regardless, celebratory porn is always a good thing. :D
