Thanks! :D The Reaper was on the tomb of a sailor named Catherineau--so yes, that's a sinking ship in the sculpture--along with a slightly morbid little poem about Death being the storm no sailor can escape from. Whoever Catherineau was, you have to admire his style.
I made a special trip to get the Reaper, heh. Camera ran out of batteries the first time through. It was on the tomb of a sailor named Catherineau--so yes, that's a sinking ship in the sculpture--along with a slightly morbid little poem about Death being the storm no sailor can escape from. Whoever Catherineau was, you have to admire his style.
Like everyone else, amazed by the Grim Reaper. Also the tomb of la Famille Henry, it looks like. Pre-emptively, could I snag some of these photos for icons?
Hello~ (or would Bonjour be more appropriate?) I happened to stumble upon these trying to find pictures of the Paris Opera... And that said, was incredibly amused by the Famille Ad Giry grave.
And yes, the Reaper is amazing! Shall write this down on list of places-to-go. -nod-

I did go to Paris afterwards, but I did not, alas, manage to get to the Opera.

Ah, a wonderful not-quite-coincidance, nonetheless! =D
PARIS~
Aww. Well, a great reason to go back, at least! ^^
