A resounding blah.

Yeah, I know I haven't updated in a week and a half. I keep poking at the half-finished entry for Nehal's last weekend--which was lots of fun all around, and which really shouldn't be hard to write, but I'm making it hard for myself and putting it off and such. Doesn't help that I feel like [livejournal.com profile] mmebahorel and [livejournal.com profile] lady_iphigeneia have already said pretty much everything I would've said anyway.

This week's been crap; two really awful days at work where I got stuck alone in the store doing the work of about three people because all the orders decided to come in right at the four-thirty rush when the ballet class lets out. Ballet class letting out = little girls in tutus dragging mommy to the petting zoo--er, pet store--and usually being horrible little shitspawn while I'm trying to stock giant piles of merchandise and help the customers who are actually going to buy something. We have a couple new employees who start next week, but that's not going to help because none of them are on closing shift with me.

This weekend's troubles began Friday night, when I had a couple glasses of wine to soothe my frayed nerves after work. Yeah, did you know that too much wine before bed gives me insomnia? I sure didn't! So I tossed and turned all night. Couldn't sleep Saturday night either for some reason. And mom is so delighted about the advent of fall that she opened all the windows--and leaves them open all night. Not even insomnia is going to compel me to go down for a midnight snack in a kitchen that's about fifteen degrees above freezing.

So yeah, it iz to be BC/EFA flea market tiemz nao? Plz?

In slightly more cheerful news, though... look, I have ebil anaphylactic milk allergies, so I'm always on the lookout for dairy substitutes. And I finally found a brand of fake!butter that doesn't taste like processed plastic or the crud they put on microwave popcorn. And there are really few things more satisfying than the way butter (or not!butter) melts off your knife when you spread it on a hot crumpet and watch it ooze into the little holes. Yes, that is seriously the first time I've ever done that. It's awesome.

I have the same drinking problem - I feel really sleepy, but then after about an hour of not sleeping, it wears off and I"m wide awake and sober and when I do finally get to sleep, I don't sleep well at all and wind up awake ridiculously early in the morning regardless of when I went to bed.

Kristin and Monica and I are deffo doing RennFest next Saturday - day before Flea Market. Intending to arrive as close to 10 am opening as we can and staying for the whole day.

Yep. I mentioned it to my mother and she has the same problem. Wasn't expecting it to affect me the night after too--but I woke up at seven this morning and couldn't get back to sleep.

Saturday sounds good. Should we all just meet there, or share cars?

I'm still trying to figure this out because Monica lives in Gaitherburg and does not drive but may be getting her mother to drop her off at Ikea, which is practically by my house (it's seriously, going up Route 1, Ikea, the USDA, my neighbourhood). But if I have to pick her up in Gaithersburg, then you'll be on the way.

The transport will get worked out later in the week, once I find out if I have to go all the way to Gaithersburg or not. Kristin is definitely meeting me at my house.

I have the same drinking problem. I do not, however, run around after my ballet class in a tutu. In fact, in all of my years of ballet, I never owned one.

I think this is the Pretty Little Princess ballet class, because they all show up in tutus and getups that look like Mommy purchased them from the Disney store. Bad Mommy, at least make your hellspawn put some pants on over her frilly leotard before you let her terrorize the hamsters.

(Bitter, me? Nevar!)

I actually would have never dreamed of stepping outside the dance studio in one of those. Call me stuffy, but they look ridiculous. Though, I suppose it's better to have the tutus on then show the underwear peaking from out under the leotards.

I wish I could fastforward this week to the weekend.

I am sorry you've had such a dredful week. I hope things start to look up. Oh and by the way, if I have too much wine I first have nightmares then am unable to sleep for the rest of the night. I can have 2 maybe three glasses and its all over after that. with mixeed drinks and the like, it varries but I have to watch my alcahol intake. Oh ouch 15 above freezing? Hmm, that's just wrong! Mind you, I'm coming from a place where 60 degrees is cause for a coat and gloves and ... well all that wintery stuff. (((hugs))))

oh, I was rather looking forward to your update, LOL! I hope you do get around to putting it up.
