A resounding blah.
Yeah, I know I haven't updated in a week and a half. I keep poking at the half-finished entry for Nehal's last weekend--which was lots of fun all around, and which really shouldn't be hard to write, but I'm making it hard for myself and putting it off and such. Doesn't help that I feel like
mmebahorel and
lady_iphigeneia have already said pretty much everything I would've said anyway.
This week's been crap; two really awful days at work where I got stuck alone in the store doing the work of about three people because all the orders decided to come in right at the four-thirty rush when the ballet class lets out. Ballet class letting out = little girls in tutus dragging mommy to the petting zoo--er, pet store--and usually being horrible little shitspawn while I'm trying to stock giant piles of merchandise and help the customers who are actually going to buy something. We have a couple new employees who start next week, but that's not going to help because none of them are on closing shift with me.
This weekend's troubles began Friday night, when I had a couple glasses of wine to soothe my frayed nerves after work. Yeah, did you know that too much wine before bed gives me insomnia? I sure didn't! So I tossed and turned all night. Couldn't sleep Saturday night either for some reason. And mom is so delighted about the advent of fall that she opened all the windows--and leaves them open all night. Not even insomnia is going to compel me to go down for a midnight snack in a kitchen that's about fifteen degrees above freezing.
So yeah, it iz to be BC/EFA flea market tiemz nao? Plz?
In slightly more cheerful news, though... look, I have ebil anaphylactic milk allergies, so I'm always on the lookout for dairy substitutes. And I finally found a brand of fake!butter that doesn't taste like processed plastic or the crud they put on microwave popcorn. And there are really few things more satisfying than the way butter (or not!butter) melts off your knife when you spread it on a hot crumpet and watch it ooze into the little holes. Yes, that is seriously the first time I've ever done that. It's awesome.

Saturday sounds good. Should we all just meet there, or share cars?

The transport will get worked out later in the week, once I find out if I have to go all the way to Gaithersburg or not. Kristin is definitely meeting me at my house.
