Mmm. Les Mis on Saturday.
- Absences: Christy Faber was on for Idara Victor. And Chip's out, which means I got Matt as the Bishop! Matt's Bishop is awesome.
- Blake left. Can't say I'm particularly fussed, especially since Carlos Encinias, his replacement, is a damn sight better.
- Dan's out for the next six weeks or so, with Jeremy Hays filling in. Jeremy is frighteningly pretty, but I miss Dan and his facial expressions of win.
- Which also means that Anderson is on guitar duty during Drink With Me. Oh, Anderson. He's still not Nehal, but he's moderately entertaining--hugging invisible people during Master of the House, giving Haviland "Hey, come back, I'm not done yet!" looks after they do their thing in Lovely Ladies.
- Minarik got yelled at by the stage manager and is now no longer allowed to hunt for DINNER DINNER DINNER. I cannot imagine how Minarik finding turkey two feet from the audience is too distracting, but Havi giving Anderson a handjob two feet from the audience is somehow not.
- Before he left, Nehal used to be the one giving Grantaire a hard time. Calling him an ass, collaring him for "They will do what is right," even glaring pointedly at him on "She will not be betrayed." Makes it kind of sweet and sad when they're among the last boys to die and they reach out for each other right before they get shot. Well, Anderson is a bit lacking in that department, so it would appear that Don is taking up the slack. After "Give me brandy on my breath and I'll breathe 'em all to death," I heard him mutter "Ugh, yeah you will." And when Minarik is covering his ears and hunkering down during the first attack, Don is all "You coward!" Don is such an excellent Courfeyrac. ♥
- Speaking of giving Grantaire a hard time, Lucia was blocking my sightlines during Drink With Me but the snuggles looked angry. And Minarik might not be allowed to find dinner anymore, but I did distinctly hear him say "Shit" just before he sat down in the corner for BHH.
- Minor blocking changes in Red and Black? Only at some point before he tells Marius he's no longer a child, Max wanders over and sits down in Grantaire's chair. Then does Aaron's bending over the table thing when he tells Adam off.
- Ran into
alligatorandme at the stage door! It was funny, we were sneaking the little "do I know you?" glances at each other for a moment before she said something. And her dad was taking pictures of everything. XD
- Bah, remember fuckall about stage door except Minarik saying how he got yelled at for being distracting, and then I finally bothered to ask him whether he read the book. He has, of course. There's no way in hell he got his characterization from anything Boublil & Schönberg wrote.
Mixed feelings about the upcoming cast change. On the one hand, JOHN OWEN-JONES and JENNY GALLOWAY, and Ivan whom I've never actually seen even though he seems to be trying to beat MickMack for number of Les Mis productions he's been in. On the other hand, kind of apprehensive about Judy. I'm tired of Lea, but I can't stand Judy's Cosette and it'll be really weird to have a Fantine who's older than Valjean. No more crowds at the stage door though!
