Greetings from the pet store.

Simon says hello.

(Actually, Simon says "meow." His mommy must own a cat too.)

Reason #23890 why my job is awesome: we have an African grey parrot boarding over Christmas.

Aww, yay! I love parrots!

Your hair looks nice. Is that a natural wave?

Yep. But ignore me and my dorky expression and focus on the bird. XD

u haz a parot?

I love birdies. :D

YES I CAN HAS PAROT. :D

Birdies are awesome. ♥ I really want one, but mom would pitch a fit if I got one, not to mention I probably wouldn't be able to take it along to college and that would suck for everyone involved. So I live vicariously through the ones at the store.

::squee!:: Is that a Timneh Af Grey, perchance? Looks like he might be, but it's a bit hard for me to tell from the pic. I have a Timneh, and I think Timnehs are too often overlooked for Congos. psh.

His owner didn't say, but I think he is--he's got the lighter-colored beak and his tail is pretty dark. He's beautiful. And kept sneaking across the counter when my back was turned so he could steal pens and try to scratch the back of his own neck with them.

[identity profile] ladyshrew.livejournal.com 2007-12-19 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah that's what I thought, but sometimes it's the lighting on pics, so I wasn't entirely sure.

My grey plays with spoons and pulls the DVDs out of the TV cabinet! He's so obnoxious! But very very adorable. I heart him. :-D

We don't sell any birds bigger than cockatiels at the store, so supervising him while he was up front was an eye-opening experience. ;) They're all willful toddlers at heart, it's just that he's so much smarter about it than the tiels. (I just watched as he played with the pen--until he managed to completely disassemble it and pull out the ink cartridge. Then it became tug-of-war and we were lucky that nobody got sprayed with ink!)

ROFL! I heart birds.

Must run to bed now, but remind me to tell you about what my cousin's macaw did once.
