Typing with Epi-Pen jitters is hard dammit.

Dear ice-cream shop in town:

You have a non-dairy option. This suggests that you are hip to the jive of people with dietary restrictions. However, most non-dairy ice cream is made with soy, so, being the sensitive people that you are, if you choose to make yours out of almonds and cashews instead, it might be nice to HAVE A SIGN WARNING FOR NUTS that people can read from the other side of the counter.

Nut allergies? Not to be fucked with. I am going to go back tomorrow and have a little chat with management, and rest assured that if it doesn't produce results, I will know where to forward the bill for my lovely little visit to health services.

Anaphylactically yours,

P.S. Epinephrine shots aren't cheap, you bastards.

I hope you are ok, though. And that they will pay up!

Eep! Not Herrel's, is it?

I hope you feel better! <3

Fail!

That's terrible! Ugh!
Definitely let us know what comes of the situation when you take it up with them. Geez.

D: That's awful. They'd better pony up something better than a lame excuse.

Egads! How scary. How bad was it?

[identity profile] 10littlebullets.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Scary but not "OMG I'M GOING TO DIE" scary. Lots of swelling and flailiness and nausea, but fortunately no breathing problems.

I wanted to kick the doctor though. She spent half the time berating me for not demanding an ingredient list for everything that passes my lips, for taking antihistamines when the swelling started instead of using the Epi-Pen right away, for going to campus health services instead of calling an ambulance... jeez, lady, if it's that serious you should stop yelling at me and check my fucking blood pressure.

[identity profile] duva.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
WTF, doc? *Shakes head* And if one had to demand ingredient lists for everything one ate... well, I for one would probably have to MAKE ALL MY OWN FOOD. Because restaurants and such? Not so good on that.

[identity profile] nightbirdcomet.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Ouch.
I hope it "wasn't too bad". Nut allergies are serious stuff.
*sends best wishes*

*Bangs head*

As someone with food allergies, I sympathize! You're right that is lame, especially when you consider how serious nut allergies can be!
