Nerd-party?

Ha, I have achieved victory over the DMV. \o/

Would anyone in the DC area be interested in a nerd-party at my house on Saturday evening? No particular pretext--I suppose we could rent a geeky movie or something--but I'm home on spring break this week and I want to see some of you guys before I'm called back to the frozen north.

Go you! Beat the system!

That sounds like fun! :D I was going to ask if you wanted to go to any of the Smithsonian and look at pretty art, but nerd-party sounds just as good.

Yay! Any suggestions for a movie? I was thinking something like that Marie Antoinette movie where we could divide our time between ogling the costumes and mocking it pitilessly and/or throwing popcorn at the screen, but if you have any other ideas I am definitely open to suggestions.

The Duchess is also good for gorgeous costumes and terrible historical accuracy, and I've got a hilarious 40s British propaganda movie called The Young Mr. Pitt (VHS, alas) where the French all speak with German accents. The Madness of King George has good costumes and hsitorical accuracy, as well, but the MA movie sounds good too!

Huzzah! Movie recommendations and/or requests? Shall we all go splits on a bottle of decent absinthe? *g*

I say yes.

I'm wholly on board with Elyse.
