I got the job!

Eight or ten weeks programming instrument/computer interfaces for a physics lab? HELL YES. And I can get reasonably-priced room and board through the college and choose which weeks I want to work.

However, this does mean I'm going to be away from DC the majority of the summer. I'm thinking I'll be working all of June and July and then maybe a week in May or August; that gives me a bit of time to relax after the semester and a bit of time before Paris. BUT, of course, all the summer Les Mis productions I want to see are in the middle of those two months. (Viz. Pittsburgh CLO, middle of July, and Québec City, June 17-July 26.) So I'm thinking weekend trips will be in order, and that might actually be more convenient for the Québec trip--DC to Québec is a fucking long way, and I would be happy to let people crash with me in MA as a midpoint if there's space in whatever room I get assigned. So let me know if you're interested in Québec Les Mis.

Also, if anyone wants to meet up in late May or early August, let me know because it will probably affect scheduling--if I pick the ten-week option, I'll be working either the last week of May or the first week of August.

Well, finals are the first week of May. So if I get them out of the way fast, I have most of that month to hang around reading and relaxing and we should totally go back to Wisdom sometime in that period. And then most of August--I don't actually leave for Paris until the 26th or 27th or so. Plus assorted LM weekends.

I am definitely interested in seeing Quebec Les Mis. (Aaaand I just looked up where Quebec city is. Holy shit, how long did that drive take for you? I was assuming it was near Montreal.)

From Northampton? Five, five and a half hours. It's a long way but most of it is through the more deserted parts of Vermont, so you can drive fast. :) From DC it's more like 12 hours, but that's assuming you manage to miss rush hour in every major city between Baltimore and Montréal.
