oh Wave-Gotik-Treffen why couldn't you have moved one weekend in either direction?
Okay so I've been harassing the director of the Paris study-abroad program about getting to take computer science classes in Paris, and I FINALLY have information on that. Apparently I'll be taking classes at Paris VII (humanities/science/medicine) instead of Paris VI (science/science/science/more science). Which means I will no longer be sharing a building with the shiniest astrophysics department in the country, but hey, it's named after Diderot! And I'll be able to take humanities classes too!
The sliiiightly more unfortunate thing is that their exams run from 18 May to 29 May. Which wouldn't be a huge problem except that WAVE-GOTIK-TREFFEN IS THE WEEKEND OF 24 MAY. So not only do I have to get myself out to Leipzig and back in the space of a weekend, I have to be all responsible and shit because I would be utterly fucked if I got shitface drunk at an Assemblage 23 concert and missed my train home. Utterly fucked to the tune of ACADEMIC RUIN.
It's actually pretty funny that most of my travel is going to be on the pretext of going to see Les Mis (London, Copenhagen, Lausanne, probably the tour stop in Edinburgh) or attending gigantic goth festivals (Whitby, WGT). If I have an Easter break I'll probably try to sneak in a tour of Germany then, but otherwise it's going to be strictly weekend trips.

Er, that is, I'm not sure when I'll be getting to go yet since I need to wait until I know what classes/activities will be like next year... and it's not till April anyway... but when I have some idea what date(s) I plan on going perhaps we can coordinate? :]
(Side note, if you ever want to come over and stay with me for a weekend or somesuch at any point in the year, you are more than welcome!)

I also have a Smith friend in Edinburgh I really want to visit. I think you'd like her. She makes Regency clothing and once challenged me to a duel.
