I baked a cake today. A peppermint-flavoured angelfood cake, to be exact. It's in the oven right now. Next time I think I should probably go easier on the peppermint... from the batter I licked off the spatula, it was a leeetle too strong.

The amazing thing about this endeavour is that so far, nothing has been destroyed and the smoke alarm hasn't gone off, the usual results of me screwing around in the kitchen. 'So far' being the operative words, mind you.

It appears that for some reason, I am mildly allergic to raw eggs (pasteurised, don't worry, no salmonella) but have no reaction when they're cooked. My throat got all scratchy after I licked the spatula/eggbeaters clean, but I've eaten angelfood cake before with no problem. I've had the same thing happen with other batter... hm. Well, add another allergy to the list, then...
