We're "moving" today--two-week vacation here at this ski place, with one week in a ski-out condo and the other in a slightly more remote but huge house. I can't say I'm particularly sad at having to leave the condo--it's a nice enough place, plenty of room, seems pretty good at first--but it's absolutely disgusting to stay in for a week. For one thing, there's the fly problem. Dead flies everywhere, although most of them tend to land on the kitchen table, and oddly enough we don't have that many live ones. Also the toilets have a nasty tendency to clog, there's not nearly enough hot water to sustain a family of four for a morning, and the whole place is a giant fire hazard: a lamp almost burst into flame for no particular reason on our first night there, and the beds are placed dangerously close to the heaters. We called the reservations people to complain, but as we're moving out in an hour, there's not much they can do besides clean it up a bit for the next people. Plus, the owners of the house we're renting next week are a very wealthy Austrian family with an expansive bilingual library--time for me to brush up on my German.
Aside from that, nothing much. I have to take the shuttle down to the main building whenever I want to use the net, though, so I tend to stay online for three-hour blocks and then disappear for the rest of the day.
*giggles* I feel rather silly--just wrote a four-page Phantom of the Opera fanfic. It's not a fandom that lends itself easily to slash, but once you manage to concoct a situation in which slash would be plausible, it just sort of jumps into life and demands to be written. I've tried to be meticulous about my characterisation though--the result is interesting, and IMO explains that nagging fakeness between Raoul and Christine.
Also, Gazib is being a major perv. As in, trying to determine the details of my sex life with the excuse of interest in gay culture. *snort* And trying to convince me that I'd enjoy fucking a guy. *snortsnort* And further trying to convince me that he has multiple girlfriends. The boy really needs to get a life.
