Bullet-point version of this week

Quick summary of the past few days. I will probably expand on it later when I am procrastinating on my homework.

- Was not having all that much fun in Vienna, so I got out a day early and took a day trip to Bratislava. Surprisingly nice.

- Hamburg is kind of like a giant collision of Baltimore and Pittsburgh. It felt very American, but in the good way.

- Hamburg art gallery: I saw the Wanderer Over the Sea of Fog! And a bunch of other awesome German Romantic paintings.

- Night in Hamburg: I need to not go out drinking with straight dudes, because then they get all dudely trying to flirt with me, and instead of flirting back I act all dudely right back at them, and not only is it socially awkward, stupid shit ensues after too much beer and we end up on the Reeperbahn at two in the morning.

- Berlin: it is approximately three times the size of Paris and therefore trying to walk everywhere was a bad idea.

- Berlin has a gay museum, which is cool in theory, but the misogyny and erasure of lesbians sucked so bad that I have already ranted in [livejournal.com profile] queer_rage and will probably repost it here.

- I SAW FIDELIO AND IT WAS AWESOME. :D

Is all good, but...I am so officially jealous that you saw "Wanderer Over the Sea of Fog"!!!!! Caspar Friedrich is one of my favourite artists...did they have any more of his works?
