And then she woke up and it was all a dream?

Go me. Of all the times to get around to watching Life on Mars, it just had to be the day The Almost People aired, so that when I decided to sandwich Doctor Who in between the first two episodes of LoM, it was calculated to inspire maximum paranoia about how real the world around me is. We will see how bad my dreams are tonight. If any of them involve hospitals I will officially rank this above "watching Blink alone in my room in the middle of the night" on the Really Bad Ideas scale.

...I am sure all the speculation about Sam Tyler being a fobwatched Master has already been done to death, so instead I will limit myself to speculating that no such direct connection exists, but on top of everything else Sam occasionally has really bad dreams about being a mad gay villain on some rubbish sci-fi show, and every time Gene hits Sam the Master hears drumming in his head.

And now, to complete the headfuck, off to rewatch Sound of Drums.

Ugh, I still haven't seen second series of LoM. I adored that first season.

Have been getting back into Being Human this weekend thanks to On Demand. And introducing my roommate to the hotness of Aidan Turner and adorable geekiness of Russell Tovey thereby :)

First season is looking pretty excellent so far. And speaking of hotness, why am I only attracted to John Simm when he's playing a power-crazed psychopath? Sam Tyler is adorable in a 100% platonic, "I want to make you a cup of tea and maybe give you a manly back-thump of solidarity" kind of way.

Sam is adorable, yes. Have you see State of Play? Cal isn't quite so nice of a guy as Sam, but John Simm is terrific in it, and it is where I got my crush on Kelly McDonald. And my crush on Bill Nighy. And my crush on James McAvoy. And realised that Polly Walker was attractive even when she wasn't being a rather evil seductress. (Seriously, her character is so thoroughly normal that it's hard to believe that's Attia from Rome or the hit woman from Patriot Games.) Tons of awesome people in State of Play, including David Morrissey, Marc Warren, and Deborah Findlay.

I haven't! I am new to the wide, scary world of TV fandoms. But obviously the downhill slide is beginning... damn you, BBC.

And it's just a miniseries, so you only spend something like 8 hours on it total.

BBC is crack because they keep hiring the same people over and over, which means I get sucked into things for one cast member, then end up having new people to follow. It never ends.

I would like to second the recommendation of State of Play! That is a fantastic, fantastic series.

Shall remember that for the future!

brb laughing my ass off at you. In a friendly was, obvs. (I made so many faces at the beginning of "The Rebel Flesh," since Marshall Lancaster's lines in the first scene pretty much are Chris Skelton - I was like WAIT WHAT SHOW AM I WATCHING HELP.)

And yes, there have also been the requisite jokes about Sam being a victim of the Weeping Angels. In case you were curious.

Okay, I'm going to stop editing now.

So how many frightening dreams did you have?

[identity profile] 10littlebullets.livejournal.com 2011-05-31 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
None, actually, but I tend not to remember my dreams anyway. So maybe I had terrifying nightmares about hospitals and forgot all about them.
