*facedesk* Gonna be teaching myself calculus, I think.
Mentioned in my last post that, as one of my most-coveted jobs requires math up through Calc II, I am taking said course at the local community college. This may turn out to have been a mistake. I actually have very fond memories of the Latin class I took there five years ago, but the calculus professor... I can only describe him as the sort of person who tells us all to look at the syllabus and then proceeds to read it off word-for-word. Which he did. And then after we'd all introduced ourselves and it turned out we were all from different schools and had taken different Calc I courses, he nodded and sat down and went "So, last course I believe we left off with section 5.3, so let's move on to 5.4..." And he pulled up his notes on the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus on the computer projector, and proceeded to read them off word-for-word.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: the reason people hate math and think they're bad at it.
