I'm starting to think the X installation on my laptop is majorly fucked up, because I have shitloads of apps that won't install because of failed dependencies, all relating to GTK+ or Glib or X includes... bah. I know they're there, I'm just not quite sure where they are. Dependencies = bane of my Linux-related existence. Also I hate feeling like an idiot, which this really makes me do.

Most frustratingly of all, when I ./config a GUI interface for giFT:
checking for GLIB - version >=2.0.0... no
*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB is incorrectly installed.
configure: error: You need glib-2.0 to compile giFTcurs

I know I have GLIB, and to make sure I installed glib-2.0.7 myself--still no deal. Damn it.

*mutters ominously about programs without RPMs*

On the bright side, I'm finally starting to do paperwork for my Simon's Rock application. I could be in college this fall, baby.
