Enough Patronus moments to ward off a whole herd of dementors.

Past four days have been an absolute whirlwind. [personal profile] filia_belialis came down from Boston on Wednesday, and since then, we have managed to:

- GO TO A RAMMSTEIN CONCERT, which--okay, they've only been at the very top of the "bands I need to see live before I die" list since I was, what, fourteen? AMAZING. They haven't played in the US since 1998, except that one time they sold out Madison Square Garden in about five minutes, and I really honestly wasn't sure I'd ever get to see them, let alone see them performing all my old favorite songs. They are fucking pyrotechnic performance artists in addition to metal gods, and the concert was akin to some sort of religious experience. Possibly a Bacchanalian rite. Three hours after the concert was over, we finally pulled back into my apartment complex and started stumbling up the hill of the parking lot, still completely high on endorphins and adrenaline, sporting assorted minor injuries from mosh pits and getting kicked in the face by crowdsurfers, not entirely sure our eyebrows weren't singed, our eyeliner gone smudged and streaky, our entire bodies covered in glitter, suds, and other people's sweat. Concerts: you know you're doing it right when the way home feels like a walk of shame.

- Spend half the next day ODing on wonder at the Air and Space Museum; we only made it through two of the big main halls and one in-depth exhibit before succumbing to some scientific-technological variant of Stendhal syndrome and staggering out exhausted. After which we flopped onto the couch and watched Einstein and Eddington, which is a beautiful and layered movie that also features David Tennant as a repressed queer physicist. Be still, my heart.

- Discover an orgasmically delicious Nepali restaurant in town, after valiantly refraining from buying more than a book apiece at the local street fair/farmer's market.

- Host a six-person Doctor Who party, in which there was much cackling over Mind of Evil. Before/after everyone else left, we also watched Remembrance of the Daleks and kind of clutched each other and made all sorts of flaily hands while watching Utopia/SoD/LotTL at a ridiculous hour of the night morning, with occasional pauses for furious bouts of meta and plotbunnies. Uh. Conclusion: we are terrible people with a terrible OTP made up of two terrible people who deserve each other. Also, fuck you, Murray Gold, stop punching me in the feelings.

- Um. I am probably forgetting things. But I have pretty much been deliriously happy ever since Wednesday night, more so than I can remember being for a long time, and now that it's over I can only sit tight and hope the comedown won't be too vicious.
