Got me a new compass last night--sat down with compass, straight edge, pencil, and paper, and promptly forgot everything I'd learned about constructions in geometrey class and began playing with concentric circles and whatever the hell you call it where the center of one circle is on the circumference of another. Eventually I wound up drawing Gothic arches with rose windows between them--actually quite pretty. If I can dig up that book on architecture I bought a few weeks ago, I might actually design a simplified cathedral or something, based more on the one in DC than on anything else.

College spam is still flooding in--so far, the only one that looks remotely interesting is Reed. West coast, dorky-intellectual, no fraternities or sororities... yeah, Reed actually looks pretty good. And, dude, it has a nuclear research reactor operated almost entirely by the undergrads. That's fucking awesome.

My grandfather wants me to go to Reed. Like, to the point where he's offering to pay my whole fucking tuition if I go there.

At least, if it's the same Reed college. ^^

There's only one, as far as I know. Right now it's looking like my first choice if I don't get into Simon's Rock next year.

I wish my grandfather was willing to do that. 'Course, he'd probably offer me tuition for Michigan U, not Reed or MIT or anything.
