A very Aspie day...

*kicks self* Last Friday I signed up for a Psych department experiment on reading comprehension... I completely forgot the appointment and got a call from my friend, who was conducting it, about half an hour after I got home from school. *throttles Alexander Graham Bell's ghost* I. Hate. Phones. I was so embarrassed to have missed it, and so nervous to be on the phone, that I basically mumbled "oh I'm sorry I'll ask my mom if she can drive me there" and hung up.

It got worse when I got there, though... I had to wait a while before it was my turn, in the hallway with a couple of other kids, and you know how some of the crappy school chairs have legs of uneven length and wobble? I was bored and anxious and still a little distressed over the phone thing, and I started to rock the chair a bit and spaced out... next thing I knew some random girl was shaking me and someone else was going "Is he having a seizure? We should get the nurse or something." Apparently I was so out of it and generally absorbed in stimming that I didn't notice when they called me, and the other people freaked when I didn't respond. Overreacting twerps, really, but it was extremely embarrassing, especially since I haven't stimmed like that in years--I've been known to flap my hands from time to time or do a funny knee-bounce thing, but never to the point of blanking out.

I did eventually do the Psych experiment though. Hey, if they ever want to study autism, they know who to call now...

My Russian class sucks. *facepalm* I wouldn't mind if they were just stupid, but they don't care. At all. We have a couple of girls who dropped from Russian II back down into the first-year class because they were too lazy to do their work, and they keep bitching about how evil the teacher is for making them wrap up some of their unfinished year-two work. You'd think that after an extra couple semesters of the language they'd understand it better than most of us, but I give you an actual quote: "Okay, I don't get this at all. Oh well. Say, N------, that guy last night looked like he was checking you out..." (Don't tell me you don't get it. It's играть. How hard can играть be?!)

The German program... dear Lord, don't let the school cut the German program next year. I must get away from these people.
