"Feelings? Happiness? REAL industrial is chemical spills!"

So quoth Ronan, who then proceeded to make a crack about it not being 1992 anymore.

Yep, folks. I saw VNV Nation live. And they kicked amazing amounts of ass, and my mom and I both had a great time despite the way we would normally have been miserable in those circumstances: crowds, noise, people slamming into us, a shitty position underneath and behind a speaker so all we could hear was bass, the combined reek of tobacco, cloves, beer, and a little bit of pot. But none of it really mattered, because VNV were great. Even if we couldn't hear half of it. My throat will be sore for a week from screaming.

It should also be noted that I, who cannot and do not dance, danced my ass off at several points before and during the show. Namely 'Headhunter' and 'Juke Joint Jezebel' before, and... um... most of the show.

For the record, the context of the above quote went something like "Okay, everyone who has never been to a VNV Nation concert before, raise your hands!" (Approximately half the crowd screams and claps.) "That many, eh? Okay, all the people who are coming back, make some noise!" (The other half of the crowd does same.) "And I hope you new people enjoy the show more than the people who didn't come back. They probably said, 'Feelings? Happiness? Fuck that, REAL industrial is chemical spills!'"
