lady_iphigeneia, I know I owe you a smutfic from Barricade Day. Alas, it will not be completed before the crack!smut challenge expires, but I assure you that it shall be cracktastic and metalicious.

Leaving this afternoon for the annual 4th of July vacation to my grandparents' place. Should be lovely--they have a house on a little lake in the middle of the woods, so there should be plenty of swimming, canoeing, sailing, hiking, etc. I do actually have a nature-loving Romantic side that makes me do things like risk electrocution by dancing on the riverbank in the middle of a thunderstorm--but it tends to disappear in the presence of heat, haze, and humidity, which means it doesn't get much exercise here in Washington. Weather's much nicer up there, so should be a good time.

And there will be fireworks. Lots of fireworks. I didn't know until last year that Pennsylvania has practically no fireworks restrictions, but rest assured that we will be taking full advantage of that.

P.S. As if it weren't geeky enough to be reading The Scarlet Letter for fun, I do little squees when I detect traces of the subjunctive in the antiquated language. XD
