Ten Little Chances to be Free (

Something resembling activity?
I think that for too long now, I've been too concerned with doing things seriously, and fallen into the trap of not doing anything because I can't seem to do anything well enough or commit to it seriously enough.
Well, fuck that.
I'm feeling rather inclined to sign up for a ballroom dancing class, even though I have two left feet, because it sounds like fun. I'm going to suck, and I'm not going to care. I'm also going to continue taking Latin next semester purely because I find it fun and unstressful, and I might take up French again. Also, I really need voice lessons, and not so I can get into a conservatory or something silly like that, simply because I miss them. I also miss playing the piano, but alas we don't have a piano in this house. Maybe I'll sign up for violin lessons again to fill the void, or try flute or something.
I've spent the first half of my year off of school dicking around and relaxing, and while that's nice and I dearly need it after Simon's Rock, I'm beginning to suffocate under my own ennui. I need to do something, learn something, or I'm going to scream.
Did I mention I had a job interview today? It was at the pet shop up the street. In all respects a more promising affair than the old job at the grocery store: it pays more, though not much more, offers regular hours and more flexibility about days off, is a far more pleasant and less soulless working environment, has no dress code, and the owner is a very nice lady. (Also, there's a place to sit down behind the counter. This is important after working somewhere where you'd get yelled at for sitting down once in a six-hour shift.) It's more work, but frankly, having to clean out cages is a small price to pay for a non-poisonous working environment.
So basically, unless the video rental place calls back offering me ten bucks an hour, 35 hours a week, and a 25% employee discount... looks like I'm going to be working there. :D At any rate, I'm going to have a job soon.
(P.S. Lord of the Rings is still love.)
