Oh god you guys, Geneva is beautiful and stuff but I am so jetlagged right now you have no idea. We took a redeye flight out of Washington and got into Zurich at eight in the morning, and I can't sleep on planes. Cannot. And then we immediately piled onto a train to Geneva, where I slept for all of an hour and a half and probably missed some spectacular views. And then we bustled about doing tourist stuff and I am just fucking exhausted.
I kept looking out the window on the plane, even when there was nothing but ocean; I saw the first lights on the very tip of Brittany appear out of the darkness, but further inland there were clouds over Paris and I couldn't even see the light. (God, I miss Paris.) I did, however, get a spectacular view of the Swiss Alps at sunrise, which... holy shit. XD
I don't think my brain even really processed anything after the plane touched down. All I remember is being on the train hearing announcements for "Zürich Hauptbahnhof - Bern - Fribourg - Genf Flughafen" and skimming a German newspaper some businessman had left behind, and then I woke up and we were passing through Lausanne and the announcements were for "Genève aéroport" and the guy across the aisle was reading the same newspaper in the French edition. Surreal.
So yeah, I think I'll wait to talk about Geneva until I've actually walked around it while in a rational frame of mind.
